Barclay Goes Green

As part of our commitment for future generations to pass through Barclay Primary, we have undertaken the task to become Eco friendly school. Over the past 3 years, the school has created a student run fully functioning Eco committee. This committee has been instrumental in setting up an action plan for the school and the community. It has also met regularly to discuss progress of the action plan and implement change in our school community.  As part our curriculum  students are made fully aware of the impact of climate change, deforestation and recycling.

Part of our commitment to "Going Green" means we are fortunate enough to have a  Ridan Composter, which students regularly use on school gardens. The school garden allows children to  practise their green finger skills in the garden.  Our Green Lion mascot can be seen all around the school and encourages children and adults to switch off lights and computer screens.

Barclay Primary have received our Bronze and Silver Eco School Awards and are currently working really hard to receive our Green flag award.  Our key priorities are:

* Litter

* Waste

* Energy

Below you can check out some photos and documents which highlight what our school does to become Eco Friendly.
